That's all very well, but I think i'd find the dalai lama's daily life a bit dull.

From a man that hasn't done a days work in his life other than chanting and spinning prayer wheels.

Tendency for the rich (whether they started rich or poor) to quote the Dalai Lama once they are secure and successful? I wonder who really embraces these ideas if they are stuck in poverty due to someone not being arsed to work because they have been listening to this rubbish too much?

Expressed badly and hurriedly as I have to go and try to fix people that have never lived

Correct. He gave them $20 for the $11 pizza but the vendor wasn't forth coming with the balance. Upon complaining, the enlightened one was advised "Your Holiness, change comes from within."

You've put it better.

Lots of unemployed philosophy graduates. Most of them seem next to useless for anything real.

I think it is unfair to compare him to Billy Liar and "Dave"!

Since we're doing cheesy motivational stuff...

"If one notices how some individuals know how to treat their experiences (their insignificant everyday experiences) so that these become a plot of ground that bears fruit three times a year; while others (and how many of them!) are driven through the waves of the most exciting turns of fate, of the most varied currents of their time or nation, and yet always stay lightly on the surface, like cork: then one is finally tempted to divide mankind into a minority (minimality) of those people who know how to make much out of little and a majority of those who know how to make a little out of much; indeed, one meets those perverse wizards who, instead of creating the world out of nothing, create nothing out of the world."

Nietzsche.
