ever been here? i'm here for my work and the country roads are awesome!! really twisty and technical, bumps, weird cambers and the occasional dirt road! great scenery too!!

I got to drive the nicest ones i seen up in Williamsport, but i was behind the wheel of a 6.6l TD auto 'box Silverado :-( who ever said it's the road that makes a great drive not the car was speaking complete cobblers

my impreza would be amazing up here...... *sigh*

I like Pennsylvania, have driven through it quite a bit. Big, long highways is what I recall.

Forget Scoobs, I can't remember what I was driving, but some very large Chrysler saloon. Even at low speeds you take your foot off the gas and it still seems to go on for half an hour!

Plenty of historic places to go and visit, as well as interesting ones. I remember going to Intercourse, where the Amish live.

Also went to see the USS New Jersey, moored up at the mouth of the Delaware, technically in NJ, but just across the river from Philadelphia, IIRC

ah yeah i went through a town with an Amish community! Was driving through keeping an eye out, looked normal, then next to the road was a small field with an Amish family in the old fashoined clothes and hourse and cart digging up their tatties!

Having driven in Florida, I found speed limits similar to the UK. On the highways most drive at 70-80mph

My uncle lives in Harrisburg, Pen. I visited him once, i have to admit the amish do look a bit silly living a 15th century life in the 21st century. Each to their own.

Common misconception. 55 is a popular one on a lot of roads, even some 2 lane 2 way roads but the turnpikes and interstates are 65. I think the governor of Texas has introduced 80 in some areas. I`ve been living in PA for almost 5 years now and this time of year is very pretty out in the sticks. People travel to this area to see the "fall foliage".

The mustang I had in Floida last year did a little over the 70mph limit in Florida I didn't want to return the car with fuel in it... cost me a good 90cent a litre!

Yeah it is a nice state, covered in forests... and road kill missing scotland and the uk in general now though!
yeah alot of people do 70-80mph but my colegue got pulled over for doing 85 down the interstate to West Virginia, i think the police here are more strict with speeding and the single carrageway country roads are very low, 45mph or so i think. But then if you go out for a thrash in the UK.... a spirited drive is a spirited drive is all i'm saying

Terrible culture of drink driving here though!
