You mean 'Wright' up my street?
No. He's not!
I'm a thoroughly modern chap, up wiv da kidz innit.
But seriously, we pay for the likes of him and I expect more VFM.
BBC radio needs a big shake up.
Hopefully Woman's Hour won't be affected - what would you do without that?

Don't know who Zane Lowe is...
Take the News readers - just how many do we need?
News24 has so many you can go weeks and not see the same one two days on the trot.
Bill on the breakfast slot with Sian Williams - he's a tit.
There's another new finance bint with a stupid accent - not needed.
Eleventy-hundred weather
casters - not needed. (keep
Carol 'cos she has nice ****, ditto Suzanne).
I remember the day with just 3 or 4 newsreaders - what's wrong with having that many now and just spread them out across the terrestrial and digital channels?
We don't need two news readers on one show, surely?
All the money saved on these spongers can then go into the drama budget - more bodice ripping yarns like Fanny Hill or even more Alan Bennett plays...

Panorama came to our place about 20 years ago .... it was an eye opener for me - about 35 people in tow.
Only 4 people actually did anything at all ... interviewer, camerman, soundman, director ... everyone else stood about with clipboards!
We had to make up some image for the CAD screen ... because the real work was too boring for real TV!
A cull is WELL overdue ....

And going back to the radio...
A massive shake up needed.
No doubt the long termers (Wright, Bruce etc) are massive contracts that can't be changed mid term.
Well, get rid at renewal.
Too old and staid.
Only this week Chris Evans (still unsure but he's not too bad) is away and Amanda Hart and Jon Holmes are on - witty, refreshing format.
When Lisa Tarbuck takes over when Wrights away, the show is fantastic and actually funny.
I'm going for the Controllers job on half the existing salary...

And another thing...
Spend some of the saved money on getting Radio 5 it's own FM frequency.
I'm fed up of tuning into in-depth sport discussions at night only to find the ****ing
Azerbaijani shipping forecast.

As for the Beeb - just get rid of the license fee. Tell them they have to survive in the commercial world. Easy peasy ....

My cousin and her hubby both work for the beeb. The pay is amazing and so are the benefits. And outside of normal working hours, the Beeb pay for taxis to take them to and from work no matter what the distance/cost is.

Seems liker the "cuts" won't be quite as severe as the Beeb said .... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/t...C-shrinks.html ...
As I said above, let it sink or swim in the commercial world.
Dave
The announcement that 2,000 jobs are to go across the corporation was undermined by the National Union of Journalists, which sent an email to staff confirming that it had secured an agreement that those who left under the cuts programme would be free to “return to the BBC on a freelance or casual basis after three months from their departure date”.
As I said above, let it sink or swim in the commercial world.

Can't stand Radio 1 (Since the late, great John Peel died)
Can't stand Radio 2
Can't stand Radio 3
Radio 4 is good though.
The "Music" that Radio 1 plays during the day is purely manufactured drivel and hateful at best. This is the reason I only listen to 5 Live and Radio 4.

£50 says they smoke 40 a day, drink most days, and subscribe to Sky.

All things they have chosen to pay for/consume.
Fact is the BBC don't air Jeremy Kyle, so the poor and disadvantaged don't watch it their channels. Thats my excuse!
