iphone 5

Lots of noises about the Iphone 4 being free on contract when this new one comes out, I wonder if its Apple acknowledging that they have lost the edge they had on the competition so are throwing the Iphone 4 to the Zombies to get noshed on and the new one will be for the early adopters and Apple faithful, i.e. sacrifice it to compete with the HTC's and Samsungs of the world, even though its not in frotn feature wise than say the Sensation or the Galaxy S it does have the "Apple" thing and that seems to be popular so they will give them away with a contract.
I reckon it will work for a while until, die to this they either lose their "Premium" edge and an Iphone no longer has the kudos on its side as everyone has one and producing one has no effect, at that point people may just start to choose the best phone by review rather than just assumign Apple make it still.

All the adroid lovers need not reply
Well it's about time!!!
To be fair, i HATE Apples computers - but having bought the 2g then 3gs i'm in love with their phones and actually couldn't live without mine now, does EVERYTHING i need personal and business.
I'm not sure if i should wait another year for the 5, even though there's no mention...the 3gs was a year after the 3 and the same with the 4 from the 3gs.....but i'm starting to think just HOW MUCH more can they physically cram into a phone ffs lol
anyway there you have it - it's a 4 with better aerials/data down/upload & camera

im interested in all phones, i just happen to have a droid atm :P
not sure the new bloke was any good presenting all the marketing rollocks tbh
as for the phone, yes its a step in the right direction for them i guess
im amused by all the sites having to make hasty revisions to remove mention of the iPhone 5

o and the aerial stuff had to be said, even if it was a minor increase
the mobile data is all very dependant on getting a decent signal, which with the UKmobile network gawd help us heh
and as for the camera, meh, i assume its a better lense as well as just an increase in MP, ive not seen the pics it produces yet.

Nice step up from my 3GS. 7x faster graphics, can anyone deny that that's not great? I mean come on. The camera looks special and could stop me buying another pocket camera. iOS 5 is working nicely for me.
Great hat tips to RIM and Android in the presentation.

64gb version! Wonder how much that'll cost.
Tis a bit of a shame it's pretty much the same as the 4, but I can see their thinking. I expect the 5 will be a much better spec...kind of similar jump from 3G to 4.

I think that your example Jack is the perfect buying demographic - those who couldn't/wouldn't upgrade to iphone 4. Those on a 3 and the LATE adopters of the 4 are in a strong position as on the one hand, the 3 owners will see a worthwhile significant upgrade to their model, whereas late-coming 4 owners may not see the upgrade as a worthwhile venture.
I certainly put myself in that particular camp. It's been documented on here countless times about my frustration and disappointment with iPhone (the former resulting from the latter tbh), but for those who are looking to jump over, now would be a great time to do so.
It would appear to me that the 4s is a stop-gap to ensure performance quality for iOS5. The iPad runs a punchier chipset and imho can handle the OS "better". The 4s is designed to run the iOS to the same standard as the iPad.
So, disappointing that it's not a full-beans iPhone 5 that would quash the reason for buying any other model, but I also see it as quite a cautious step forward from Apple. Potentially a wise long-term move.
Time will tell.

By now I hope everyone has been able to watch the video, I'll put a link below for the injured, maimed or BT customers.
Well done Apple. Now there's absolutely no reason why everyone can't have an iPhone. Apple listened to the haters and developed solutions or price points that mean that now no one has a reason not too. Boom.
#1 Operating System
#1 Handset
Bazzions of iPods sold
Even blind people like Stevie Wonder have no excuse, and you can't say they're lured in by an advert or a pretty design.
Thanks for the innovation Apple.
