Lunch in London...?
Has anyone got any recommendations of where to book for lunch in London (for a special occassion) ... looking for a nice setting (preferrably fairly central), good / relaxed atmosphere (with no dress code), top quality food / wine....!?!?
Friend has suggested www.barbecoa.com which looks good as well as www.theledbury.com/Home.aspx (but this looks a bit too 'fine dining'), want good quality but nothing too pretentious, if that makes sense!?
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks

Thanks to everyone for the recommendations, some great suggestions ...
... I've just booked a table at the OXO Tower (Brasserie) - as soon as I saw the website it seemed to fit perfectly for what I'm after

Let us know how you get on. Never tried it but wondered.
Took the Wife to Le Gavroche for her birthday last weekend. Am a regular there now, so get recognised and acknowledged, which I like.
Restaurant Manager dealt with us personally, which I liked even more.
Pretentious? I suppose.
Poncy? Definitely.
French? Absolutely.
Expensive? VERY.
Dress code? Jacket for Gentlemen.
However, the experience is wonderful, I love how they take the food and drink so seriously, is an absolute treat for us and I look forward to going there time and again.
It should be tried at least once.
