You have to wonder if further, more sinister discoveries could follow, and if it isn't an isolated incident. But also that this could be a ploy to undermine traveller support in relation to Dale Farm, giving credence to potential legislation changes.

I read in the paper, 'Police carried out a five month covert operation' - so the slaves could have been released five months ago?
I guess the police had tread carefully as to protect the gypsies human rights.

The police made the raid after 28 complaints by escaped slaves.
I do not believe for a second that the other travellers on the site did not know what was going on. It shows very simply what happens when you have a community like the travellers who believe themselves to be separate and above the laws of the country.
