I would have enjoyed all that of course Trout.
The Beaver has long been a very versatile and capable aircraft for the jobs it is used for.
I suppose you went fishing as well...you lucky man!

Leslie,
yep indeed - we were fishing short days as one of the pilots was on medical leave - I still had around 250 fish for the week including 70 salmon, and trout and char to 10lbs, and grayling to 3lbs.
This one has the fish in it...

Leslie,
if you look in the second vid there is a pool called the confluence - tidal at the mouth of two rivers.
It must be the most productive salmon pool for fly in the world - it can produce up to 250 salmon...
...a day for four anglers!!!!!

What a great holiday that was Trout. Amazing to ba able to catch that many salmon too. Looks like they must exist on Roe going by the lures. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing that.
You must have eaten a lot of fish though.

We ate salmon and when we got a decent one, the real treat was a Dolly Varden cooked fresh on the bank. Superb!
You are right - for most English anglers, a lifetime of salmon in one week.
I am going back next year for the King salmon run - up to 45lb on a fly in the Confluence. Much smaller numbers though - maybe 6-10 a day for the whole pool.

BTW the main source of nutrition for the rainbows, char and dollies is salmon roe (Coho, sockeye, chum and kings all spawn in these rivers) and rotting dead salmon post-spawning.
In some Alaskan rivers there are so many salmon they lock the rivers with one way gates or depth charge the estuaries to stop the redds from being destroyed by overcrowding.

Incredible. On the Tay last week and I caught (and returned) a tiny trout which was beginner's luck, the only catch of the day despite 8 anglers. I think I only saw two or three the whole day.
