DVLA: thieving *****!!!!!!
Letter arrives today: Dear Mr ****. this is just to remind you that the photo on your photocard driving license expires on 20/10/2011. It's easy to update it, just fill in the form, below and send it to us or take it to a Post Office where they will take your picture for you.
Then you turn the form over and there it is: fee £20
And a bit further down: Failure to update your photo could lead to PROSECUTION AND A FINE OF £1000
This is just another fukcing tax, the thieving barstewards!!!!!!!!!
And take it to a Post Office? The two nearest ones to me where I can get it done are 20, and 25 miles away, according to a message with the letter.
So I've got to pay for some new photos, AND £20 for them to change the photo.
Utter, utter, thieving b@stards!!!!!!!!!!!

I got robbed by them last year.
You have to renew it every ten years, I think?
Like you I have to drive 20 odd miles then pay 6 quid for the photos then another 20 quid!!!
Scandalous!!

I`ve just had to renew my photo too, was 10 years old.. £20 + £4.99 for photo`s... And to be honest, I`m still as good looking as I was 10 years ago... Not changed a bit.... Waste of Money... I think they should have an option to opt out of renewing the photo if you`re as wrinkle free as me... LoL.....

Lewis was ranting about the same a while back except for the fact that he allegedly still has a paper license and they plan to phase them out by 2018 IIRC. I pointed out to him that you have to renew your licence at 70 years of age so surely he'd now have a photo card jobby, and it's free for over 70's anyway.
Couldn't answer that one

Agreed. It is photo licence for **** sake. Makes perfect sense to update your photo every ten years. You could have had your eyebrows waxed or something!

Just send em a cheque for £20 and tell them to use the photo they hold on file, its still you, and unless you cark it, it will always be you
AFAIK you only have to renew your licence, how do they know how youve aged in 20 years??, so the picture immaterial
