Li-ion battery Q
I have some headphones that use 2 ni-cad baterys 1.2V each linked,
They dont last that long, and are stupidly expensive to replace, due to the lay out of the batterys
Now going through my bits drawer, i found some 3V li-ion flat batterys
Trouble is the nicad are simple 2 wire connection for charging +&-
and the Li-ion is a 3 wire system.
can i just dump the 3rd wire and use them as a 2 wire system?
or is the 3rd wire essentail
Mart

As mention Li-Ion is a nono without having to build a new dedicated charging circuit. However you should be able to use NiMh cells instead,.
But obviously you'll need to adjust your charge times according to the mAh rating (do not overcharge though NiMh cells hate that)
Industrial cells shouldn't be that expensive to obtain: http://cellpacksolutions.com/items.a...aggedBatteries
They'll sometimes do pre-made/custom packs, I had one made up for an old Dell laptop when the CMOS battery pack died.
