House and Contents Insurance
Currently with Tescos and they quote £426.66 for renewal
I actually signed up with eSure today for £272.95 but upon information from a work colleague about the appalling service reviews - I cancelled immediately.
I've had suggestions of John Lewis and one or two others.
Who do YOU insure with?
Why?
How much?
Happy with service?

Swinton Insurance for home insurance
Staff know what they are talking about and they have a good market to shop around for you. Most insurers they use will give you a blanket cover, i.e u ask for 25k conts and 150k builds, they give you 50k conts and 500k builds, so u really cant under insure. of course double check this and know ur exact amounts as best u can cause those insurers might not always be the cheapest for you.
if you have anything else with swinton make sure you get your cashback also

Can't remember but around £260 for the full monty.
Had excelllent service
Also have cars with them
I am assuming you are not insuring a flat above a sports shop in Manchester/Tottenham/Clapham Junction or similar

Direct Line. cant beat them or even come close... cant remember the price around two hundred and something for both with all the bells and whistles and as for customer service??? A++! we had a bad leak with a couple of burst pipes over the winter destroying the bathroom, a bedroom, hall, stairs, landing & kitchen they came out assessed the damaged and and gave us 3 options:
1.they get their guys to come in sort it and we just pay the excess
2.we pick who we want to do the work as long as they are VAT reg and just pay the excess
3.they give us cash less the excess to sort it ourselves!
they even picked up the bill for the plumber that came out on emergency to sort the plumbing

I was always with Prudential but then halifax lured me away with a cheaper quote, turned out the reason it was cheaper is cause it wasn't as good as my old policy and when they came to settle on a claim they were appauling.
I'm back with the prudential now and I know if I ever do have to make a claim they are pretty good at sorting things out.
i pay £630 a year but have everything on and have some special items insured.

AA both abount £220 iirc. Only claim Ive made was accidental damage to oven which came under building ins as fixed appliance. Easy enough to claim less excess.
My old dear is with Tesco and just had about £20k claim after burst pipes last xmas. Slow at the start but came through well inc 6mths rent paid upfront for a cottage whilst restoration work done.

I'd previously had very good recommendations for John Lewis and Marks & Spencer - but then found out that both of them are actually AXA.
So - I recently took out an AXA Home & Contents policy - which appears to offer very good cover, is very simple to do (none of this calculating how much stuff costs and how much to rebuild your house rubbish) and was a great price.
There's a huge amount more to Home & Contents insurance than the cheapest possible quote.

Currently with Barclays. Not had to use them, so can't comment on their service. Found that some of the sites through Quidco were more expensive than ones through compare the market, so didn't get cashback. I have a meerkat on the way though
Wasn't impressed with the call out plumber we had with Direct Line's home emergency cover when we had a leak. They worked out where it was and then decided that because it was behind tiled walls they didn't want to know. Didn't even bother to turn off the isolating valves that would have stopped any further leaking

Norwich Union give us good cover.
Going back a few years, I accidentally smoked out my GF (now wife) flat - pretty much destroying everything inside.
She had no insurance - and had to sue me under my personal liability cover.
Happy days
