Question

Anyone suggest a decent mobile phone.....been thinking about getting Siemens SL45, these any good?
Incase any one suggests it I don't really like the look of the T68.
Would it be worth buying one off the net e.g. Ebay etc?

Any comments appreciated.

I've got a 6310 and am pretty pleased with it.
I'm currently trying to connect it up to a Compaq Ipaq 3870 that I've just bought using Bluetooth.

You're probably best heading into either phones4u or The Car Phone Warehouse - I've always found the staff to be pretty helpfull when I've been in.

Having had a play with both of these phones, I would go for the Seimens anyday.

The T68 felt awfully cheap, it felt plasticy where the Seimens was solid, nice screen on the T68 though and the bluetooth is useful, but it isn't enough to sway me. SL45 anyday for me....

Nokia 8850 anyday.

Not many bells and whistles, just a small, solid classy phone that's easy to use.

Have a look at the Trium Eclipse. Bigger colour screen than the T68 and easier to use. We have lots of phones in the office and the Trium is the one that everybody uses.
We have a SL45 and it looks cool but is nasty to use.

The Trium is quite rare but I know Carphone Warehouse do them.

The 8850 is far from solid. Every single 8850/8890 that I have known a friend to have, has within a year fallen apart.

If you're looking for solid I'd steer well clear from Nokia's. Supposedly their intended lifespan is 12 - 18months

Motorola Timeport 280, got one last week and its pretty solid and looks good so far. GPRS is amazingly simple to get up and working. No more fiddling with wires in hotels to get PC connection

I'd go for a nokia 8855 (very solid replaced my much abused 8850 which survived a 4 storey fall down a stair well) or the T68 if you need the features it offers..Either way I would get it from ebay/yahoo if you arent upgrading a contract.

I would agree with Andym, I've not had my 6210 a year yet and it's falling to bits, I wouldn't mind, but it spends all it's life either on my desk, on my bedside table, or in the in-car holder. The battery is loose, it switches itself off in damp weather and it rings people even with the keylock on.
I wouldn't have another nokia given me, I only got it because the old 5110 was a good solid & sturdy unit that lasted nearly 3 years.

I've got an SL45, and it is the BEST phone BY FAR I've EVER had!!!

The 2nd best is my wife's Samsung A300.

Both have a superior build quality compared to Nokia & Motorola... (IMHO)

Plus you also get the really cool Sync-station! Bit slow though (serial connection).

Good mp3 player too. HIGHLY recommended
