Walking to work pretty much every day now and my ipod earphones have seen better days.

Not really sure where to start but want earphones rather than headphones.

Budget upto £50 but will go higher to £100 if its worth it.

I bought some sennheiser earphones for my iPhone. The difference between apples and sennheiser ones are day and night.

Only paid £35 for them

I bought a pair of Sony MDR-EX300SLB headphones for about £30 after the cat chewed through the Apple standard ones. The difference in sound quality is huge, everything sounds so much richer using the Sony earphones.

My Wife has similarly priced Sennheiser earphones and they are also excellent, the Sonys are produce slightly more bass but other than that there's not much in it.

Depends on what sort of music you listen too, but I thoroughly recommend Klipsch Image S4. Fairly bass heavy but not over-powering and crystal clear mid-range. Excellent sound quality and on a par with my collegue's Sennheiser IE7 for near enough half the price. The Klipsch are around £70.

Here's a good review:

Thanks guys.

Was looking at these

And have look at the Klipsch. Might look at the Bose - they allow you to return if not happy. My ears ache like mad with the Apple phones.

Probably the same ones that i've just bought.

Sennheiser cx299. £35 from £45. Very good headphones, stay in your ear and are a lot more comfortable than the standard ipod ones too. A friend lent me a pair of Sennheiser ones that cost him about 90 quid and i could not tell the difference.

I also study audio engineering at university and My tutor was very impressed with them.

Another BIG vote for Klipsch. Really good.

I used to have Ultimate Ears and I think the S4 is much better.

Another vote for the Klipsch. Best sound/comfort that I've found.

When I got my iPhone the standard earphones are those horrible big ones. I've got really small ears so wanted the in-ear phones which are like a silicone material. Went to Tesco and got a pair of white Sennheisers which were about £18 down from £36. Absolutely superb. Excellent sound quality, no need to spend £100 on a pair IMHO.

Was really disappointed with the crap headphones with my IP4, so i bought some in ear Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth headphones from Amazon. These were £35,
are fantastic and comparable in quality to my senheissers-which are good for the money, but without the cable faff, which I hate...
I mention them as a lot of iPods utilise Bluetooth now.Although, these also have an LCD display and microphone, so work great with the phone.
