Something to think about...
...what is it we worry about when we get up in the morning? Here is a different perspective.

We wake up and moan about an extra 1p a litre on petrol ... as we buy some ready meals in the Petrol Station and grab a 'treat' of a MARS Bar as we pay for our fuel.
As the film shows, some people wake up to another day of abject misery ... to a day of massive struggle and torment ... to a day where death would be better than life.
We are very lucky where we live and with what we have - the gulf in the world between the haves and have nots is massive.
All need to just take a moment away from looking at our neighbour with jealousy, to looking at others far less well off than ourselves and be thoroughly grateful.
I do realise that we have had, and are now having things taken away from us ... so, it is hard to keep a sense of perspective. But, really, we are some of the luckiest people alive today and we should celebrate that.

There are a couple of perspectives on that film that I find particularly interesting.
Caring for others is an essential part of Indian society and in Bangalore there are many schemes that cater for the poor in terms of feeding and welfare programs.
What makes this particularly special is that someone who has been raised as a Brahmin such connection with the poor and helpless is truly abhorrent. To even recognise those in need, especially the mentally handicapped is just not done.
In India the number of people below the calorific poverty line is around 30%. For all the advances, 30% of people still go to bed every day feeling hungry and undernourished.
That is around 320,000,000 people. The population of Western Europe.

A very touching video clip.
I imagine that it took great strength on his part to go agains what is completely not accepted within his faith and society.
A very caring man.
