Wink My latest runaround... Ford

Sold the Golf GTi awhile back, Only had it a month in the end... So it didn't stay long Broke even with the sale, so it wasn't to bad...

And bought this instead... Cheers Moley again for swaping the insurance to and fro at short notice... Hassel free as always with you...
Just incase people are thinking I changed my mind with the colour on the zetec turbo Orion, that Build still in progress
Thats still sat in the garage waiting for paint... going in Jan Cant wait to see it done in Ford Moonstone Blue...

Anyway the new one number 2, I've had it about 6 weeks and love it... its Old Skool enough for me F-reg MK2 Orion 1600i ghia ( Bought it off a Orion register owners club member ) Its tidy for its age, with a few good bits on it...

Idea is to run this one around and do 2009 shows until the ZT shell is built
I know its not a Scooby, and I still do really miss the Type R, but its nice seeing the older Fords still out and about...

And one out and about... this location is only about 2 mile away from me if that
The industrial park... Orion Park, the street... Orion way

very tidy car, nice one. i gotta confess i still have my xr4x4 sat at home just couldnt bring myself t part wiv the old girl when i got the impreza. the old 4be may not be the quickest thing on the road but i used t give these jap cars a run for their money, especially round castle combe. after driving that for 6 years then jumpin into the scooby i wish id brought one of these sooner lol.

Being honest, its got alittle on the O/S A post around the screen, and theres a bubble inside the O/S rear arch, which unless you open the rear door, your not gonna see...
Its had paint in its life, and tbh it could do with abit more in places, but for its age its a clean one, and I've owned worse 9 years ago...
I've still gotta get round to machine polishing after abit of wet flating and fingers crossed no paint depth gauges here, just *****!!!

Silver Scooby SportI used to have one of these on a C plate that was a while back
Looking good Mr Slammed.... what's the plan with the rebuild ?

The Equipe ( Zetec Turbo ) shell I got like this...

Which looked like this the day it was MOT'ed Oct 2007, Shortly after I got rid of the Type R

Since then its been stripped, welded up which was very little, the shell is mint...

So far I've collected, 90's spec front bumper with the bottom bar removed, Turbo bonnet, Saff cossie spoiler, clears all round, Escort Cossie front brakes, RST LSD box ( dunno how long it'll last ), retrimmed 88 spec front recaros to match the interior, but the blue dash has been swapped for a grey one , just gotta retrim the door cards nearer the time.
2nd hand Koni's which I've re-painted, with Pi 60mm springs, may go lower once its up and running, will see how it sits first . . .
Engine, 2 litre Mondeo lump, bought a full car salvaged... £120 quid! All stripped of bits I needed and weighed it back in for £90 quid Budget build this now I'm a home owner
I have been in contact with RON @ AXIS ( who built the short block up for the Type R ) regarding CP pistons and Pauter rods for the Zetec turbo lump... All sorted...
ECU is Adaptronics again... Sat waiting fitment
Also gotta GRS FMIC
The shell goes for paint in Jan, in Ford Moonstone blue all colour coded Putting black stripes back in the front and back bumpers... Keeping it original ish...
To buy now will just be the little bits, alarm, turbo ( T28 ), stainless for home made exhaust system, 3 inch all the way through... FMIC pipe work plus hoses, all gonna be custom again...
Thats the basics... gonna aim for the 250-300 bhp mark... See how it goes, get this year out the way, take it off the road for winter to up the power abit more and probably invest in a uprated gearbox... Also had my 17inch Borbet C's refurbed... Look mint ( Old Skool !!! )
They've since had Goodyear eagle F1's fitted to them and look lovely

The underside is detailed in body colour, and I've now got a full set of Flow-flex polybushes to fit to it...

Hopefully should be quite alittle weapon, not on the same scale as the Type R... But should still be fun to drive...
