The Oscars ...
... who gives a flying fooook about some overpaid, witless, Actors congratulating themselves on yet another year of non-contribution to society!!
Makes my blood boil .... there are people working damned hard to put food on the table, people doing very tedious, soul destroying jobs, some doing charity work for the less fortunate .............. and what do we get?
The News taken over by these pompus jumped up people who do nothing of any worth! That's what!!
It's about time we got our priorities right!!
It's not right that someone who kicks a ball around is paid more than the Nurse caring for a dying child. That someone who 'stars' in a film is paid more than a Teaching Assistant who is struggling to keep a child with ADHD engaged in life.
Rant over, steps down off soapbox, takes medication and .......... relax

Agreed , you would assume fro coverage on bbc theres a hollywood 'award' cermony every other month

As for the production staff, I'd like to see half of the working population put as much effort into producing something that well polished and on time

That's a straw man if ever I saw one! What about you Pete? You always harp on about how well paid you are. How many lives did you save today? How many babies did you bring in to the world? Unless you have been bull****ting us all these years, then I would imagine you are paid more than nurses and teaching assistants..... People are paid what the market supports.
Now get back in yer bath chair and relax

Films are entertainment. Fawning over what X,Y or Z is wearing is mindnumbing drivel. On Daybreak they were even commenting how someone's microphone clashed wth her dress. I turned off.

Heard the news in the car earlier. Best actress gave an "emotional" acceptance speech apparently. "I'd like to thank my parents, sitting in front of me, for giving me life ..." ....

That's what makes them great actors/actresses, very convincing performances wherever there's an audience! They probably don't give a flying fig when in the privacy of their own home.
