Default Free cavity wall or loft insulation for dual fuel British Gas customers

If you're a dual fuel British Gas customer you can get either free cavity wall or loft insulation. I've booked in for a survey and the closest they can do is April! 0800 980 8177.

Just thought I'd let everyone know

From experience most if not all house built after 1997 are already cavity wall insulated

You can also get it done for free if in receipt of JSA and ESA - FWIW TTFN

Mine was built 1930. Just moved into it and most of the other houses seem to have it done down the road. I was thinking of paying for it when I saw an advert in the paper, it's open to everyone not just old people etc.

The houses my Dad used to build were all open cavity. Although the inner brickwork was built using thermal blocks. So cavity insulation was not needed to maintain whatever U value the regs stipulated at the time (and filling them would possibly cause problems with damp - especially if rockwool).

Lofts were insulated though.

Its daft that the cheapest energy supplier is also the one that makes the most profit.

(Everytime I checked, BG was always cheaper for both gas and electric )
