Further to my Antarctic trip, when we were at South Pole station on th 4th dec they annouced to us that we needed to be out of our campsite and at the main station building, as they were making a second attempt to blow up the old 1957 station that was buried beneath metres of snow, it had been causing them trouble as they had lost 2 tractor units recently into holes when old structures had collapsed when they had driven over the area.
We duly trooped over to the main station where we were told we could watch from the guest room area, while waiting a visiting teacher said they were going closer and invited us all along, so of course we could'nt refuse, we ended up on top of the "Ice Cube Project" building from where I took the video. I have just found out that they needed a third demolition to finish the job a few days later.
