It was an awful sight and nothing seemed to have been done about it.

It must be very upsetting to see that, it bothered me seeing the picture.
Hard to know what they could do about it, apart from closing the park or shutting that particular bit down if possible.
Not good for children to see that even if people say it is educational.

Such a shame. I can imagine that some children and parents may have got quite distressed at the site of it all.
My children however possibly wouldn't be bothered. We have been unfortunate to have had deaths in the family, and I try hard to be honest and truthful about death so that they understand where people have gone.
It does backfire sometimes when my daughter says things like "she is going to die, because she is old" or the classic line, "is Caroline in HAVEN now mummy?". Yes darling, with Bradley bear abd all the other 'british holiday' folk!
Logically there isn't much that can be done. I doubt very much closing the park would have even registered so close to Christmas.
