The Ex seems to think so.Here is my situation.

Left my Job as a Lift Engineer in September to go to the Usa,for work.I planned on 2 months to get my accommodation sorted there,but things panned out alot quicker..so i came back to the UK as i needed to sort Visa stuff out,and it would be handy for Xmas to see my daughter.Im heading back out Mid January.
Im living on my savings whilst im over here.Now the Girlfriend has said to me tonight...stop being a dole waller.....WTF could understand if i was claiming dole..but i never have since leaving School and im 35.

I'm shocked.maybe she should look and see who is still paying half the Mortgage,Bills..etc whilst im on the dole...lol

I do all the housewifey stuff during the day like,Dishes..Watch Jk..Watch ****...Dishes...

The real question is, do you really care what she thinks?

If you are paying your way, and doing your share, what does it matter what she thinks? Clearly this is a short term arrangement until you move, and you're not even claiming. so I would make the most of a bit of free time and just ignore her.

your paying your own way from money you've earned, in no way are you a dole waller/bum, someone like that is quite happy to stay on the dole as they just dont want to work, you quite clearly do, even if you were claiming, who cares, times are tough at the minute.
you may not be able to claim anyway, once they know what you have in the bank they would make you live off that until it was gone, happened to a mate of mine.
Same old story, he is english so entitled to naff all.

Knowing you Mick I suspect the local off licence has doubled its takings whilst you are being a house husband so you are actually supporting the local economy . By the way do they have "Turbo" stairlifts in the US of A or just larger and stronger ones ?.
