Freesat; as many terrestrial transmitters don't transmit the HD channels yet.
I'm planning on a new TV soon, and the built in HD satellite tuner on the Panasonics is a tipping point for me (one less box, one less remote, etc).
We already have the dish (used to have Sky, 'til the box broke and we cancelled when they even more money off us to fix it, where virgin do it for free).

I deal with both daily and I would say freest is the better format. But tbh both are a waste of time with the hd content they do show

For £150 you'll have to sacrifice the convenience of a plug n play "Freesat" branded box and go for a normal sat. receiver.
They can take quite a bit of manual setting up, such as bringing in the Freesat EPG.
Technomate usually have a good reputation and this one fits the bill. Connect an external HDD via USB to work as a PVR.

Me too M8. Agree the HD content is pants. And what I should of said is the signal level of Freesat is a whole lot better than Freeview HD will/is and is effected a lot less by atmospheric conditions etc than Freeview. Although the odd heavy rain storm or thuderstorm can and will effect it

We have this in the bedroom, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sagemcom-RTI...0880555&sr=1-3
A little over your budget, but with a decent aerial it seems a very good box that has not yet given me any problems. And come 2011 we should be getting the full benefit.

One thing to note between Freeview HD and Freesat HD. In the Granada region we switched over to Digital last year and since then the normal SD channels are fine and @ full strenghth but it has been hit and miss with the HD ones. Full signal strength but poor signal quality which has caused breakup/no picture on occassion. But on Freeview HD you get Channel 4 HD where on Freesat HD you don't at the moment. The Freesat system is also good as they are now offering BBC -Iplayer on certain makes of freesat systems (2010 models at the moment) but you will need a system that will be connectable to your broadband router via wi-fi/Ethernet LAN cable. The 2010 Panasonic range will have this ability but anything older than 2010 will either be out at sometime or not compatible.
