Default Parking within 30 mins of Old Trafford

Hi guys, maybe this should be in sport, I dunno but gonna ask in here anyway!

Me and a mate are off to see Man Utd V Wigan this Saturday (3,00pm kick off) and having a little 1.1 bucket worth jack I'm tempted to drive. Seems the cheapest train ticket I can get is £21.50 for first class as normal seats seem sold out. Would have a lift back like (mates brother). BUT I don't mind driving if I can park somewhere legal and handle the traffic afterwards.

Experiences would be great. Got satnav as don't know Manchester at all really (going from Scunny).

Help appreciated (although I expect the usual jokes about being from outside Manchester)

Ta

Just park at the ground, plenty of places signed up around the area. Usually costs £10.

The council offices is a good one as you can get out easy at the end

Any idea if it would be jammed by about 12 midday when we plan to get there??

Were thinking of the MEN arena 3 miles away and getting a tram. I'm not to bothered about traffic after, just getting in and parked kinda legally would be nice beforehand.

you can pretty much park anywhere round the salford quays for £5. i always park next to frankie and bennys which is about 10-15 min walk to the ground and gives easy access to motorway after the game

No need to bother. Park here - Trafford Council

2 minute walk to the ground and easy to get out, I always park there. You will be fine getting there at any time really but I usually get there an hour before kick off, so 12 will be quite early, but give you chance to get in the pubs.

Hmm, liking the idea of parking around the Quays

Don't mind paying for parking either and the walk is only about 1/2 mile

As said there is no shortage of parking nearby from a fiver .
Some park at Chiquitos ,just have something to eat there and they usually let you keep the car there for free .5 mins from ground .

Enjoy the game .We are due a big win sometime soon .Lets hope its this one .

This is my thinking too. I have a couple of mates who buy season tickets and then just share out the games for the match ticket equivalent. Mate got in touch and said he had a spare ticket today for Saturday...

Park at the Lowry Designer Outlet on Salford Quays, get there a bit early and get something to eat inside. Plenty of places to have some food/drink and you ask them to stamp your parking ticket when you pay which gives you free parking. As mentioned Just a few minute walk to OT Across the footbridge, I always park there as my a few of my friends are season ticket holders and they've parked there for years. When you go in under the barriers off the roundabout shown (there is another entrance) turn immediatly left then left again like a U turn and go to the second level (not many people park there for some reason) there are a set of doors and a flight of stairs which takes you straight into the restaurant areas (BurgerKing, Subway Etc), and the ticket machine is there too (you have to put your ticket in before you go back to your car AFTER the match) Anything else just PM me.
