Quick Mobile Question
I am collecting someone from Gatwick later today. Person I am collecting has a mobile registered in Ireland and I usually dial 353851**** to get through.
Do I just drop the 353 bit and stick a 0 in front?
And will his phone work in the UK? It will be a cheapo phone not a turbo satellite.
Thanks, David

You have to keep the country code as its an irish mobile.
As for working, as long as they have roaming activated it should work, just be careful of international charges.

What your friend will be able to do is, when in the UK, be able to dial UK numbers directly without using their usual '+44' code, just as you do. If people back home in Ireland call their number than that call gets routed to the UK automatically and the caller knows nowt about it. Your friend will get hit with the *Ireland to UK* part of the call though, the *roaming* charge.
HTH.
