Fireworks with the Neighbours lol
Parking Scenario:
The neighbour (A) son has given his old car to his parents, he has bought a new Corsa, and he also drives a work van..... So he takes it in turns to park each vehicle outside other peoples house, until tonight that is .
After seeing him park his van outside our house I started to fizzle and smoke, then as I went outside to blow, I noticed some other neighbour (B) turn up whom have a toddler and baby and he had to park his car 100yrds away from his house and carry the baby in.
As I tapped on the neighbours (A) door I could feel my blood boil............. ............. ...........
........ As he came to the door I think I may have over stepped the mark, I wasnt subtle by no standards, and my choice of language wasnt albeit I didnt swear, raise my voice or become physical. I was ok until he said "I pay my Road tax so technically I can park anywhere on the street" Well you see I have two children myself and one is disabled so having easy access is paramount (Im awaiting a G parking bay)
SO what do you think might happen now .... ? Maybe some nice etching down the side of my car, maybe a flat tyre? I have lived here for 5 yrs and never had any trouble with the neighbours until now, so this could be entertaining!

oops, it's a slippery slope with no winners.
Our neighbour opposite had a 'cone' car a sh1tty old red micra that he used as a traffic cone to keep his space, then he would dump the cone car wherever.......he had it scrapped after it broke down, fingers crossed he won't replace it.

To be fair, and play devil's advocate he is allowed to park there. You have no legal right over and above his to park there. Obviously you have my sympathy with regards to your son and I hope you get the special parking privileges but until that time it's first come first served.
On a related note I have seen some people actually put cones outside their houses in some crappy parts of London. I take great pleasure in moving them.

I had similair issues with my neighbour, they have alot of cars, visitors etc and churn up the grass bit outside their house until its all muddy, smears all down the road when they leave etc.
well, they started parking on the grass verge outside my house, now this annoys me,as i dont want a mudswamp outside my entrance as i park their sometimes to fix car as my driveway is a slope,so anyway, they love their tree in their front garden,i dont, a load of branches, huge ones came over the fence into my lawn area,so i lopped them off, made the tree look very shabby and they let me know they didnt like it, i let them know i didnt like them parking outside,(again,as i did so before i lopped the tree about)they dont park out side mine (on the verge anyway) anymore as this is what i asked them not to do.
so, moral, hit them where it hurts i guess LOL

drug him, and put him in a room with the walls covered in plastic, then have a nice chat about how much pigs can eat of human flesh and how fast, and that your uncle is a pig farmer.
he wont be parking out side yours again
job done
(anyone know where i took that from?)

But the neighbour is allowed to park anywhere he likes!! The op does not own or have a reserved parking slot on a public road. What gives the op the right to take vengeance on somebody who parks legally?

Lets hope your neighbour doesn't buy a big van and park it outside your living room window then

I've never forgotten a neighbour ranting at me for parking opposite his driveway. First I knew of it being a problem was when I had a phone call from the police asking if I had abandoned my car (I'd only been parked there a few hours). It's great if neighbours can respect 'spaces' but I don't think someone should be able to tell people where they can and can't park on a public road.

if your car is T&T then you can park anywhere you are legally entitled to -- it really is that simple
if you want to park outside your house buy one with a drive
if you want to park outside your house buy one with a drive

I'm with you all the way down this thread. If you want to have a personal parking space, pay for one or move to a place that has a driveway. We had an **** neighbour 15 years ago who went ballistic if we parked on the road as well....... we moved....he is now going ballistic with about the 4th generation of neighbours who like to park on the road.

Yep, unfortunately/technically he can park wherever he likes, well on the road anyway. It’s a pain in the **** for those of whom it affects but unfortunately it’s one of those things.
You got any room to build a drive or something?
If parking is that much of an issue for people (because of kids, reasons for needing to park close to the house etc) then as harsh as it's sounds this should be considered when buying a house should it not?

If its taxed and on a public highway they have equal right to park there.
The issue is houses with street parking were not designed for households with 2 or 3 cars, but in today's society it happens.
I hardly think someone legally parking on the street albeit outside your house, is cause to vandalise their vehicle?

when i lived in London my neighbour used to do this...On day, walking back from the shop.we saw the guy arrive back home....got out of his car.....went over to move the cone.....the next thing was the guy had fallen over the cone ???
During the day someone had nail gunned the cone to the tarmac
ironicly he was seen later that evening trying to remove it by police. and was charged with "criminal damage to a metropoliton police traffic cone"

What's the point? It's not like they can't be moved.
Like it or not (and I don't, I live on a road) people can park where they like.
It's frustrating, and it would be lovely if neighbours could show some mutual respect, but life is not ideal. They are doing nothing illegal and my best advice is do nothing stupid, however tempting, as it would be you in trouble.
Hopefully there will be no comeback after your little outburst, if there is report it and tell of where you think the damage has come from. That aside, if you have a disabled child, could you not have a word with the council to see if they could speak to your neighbour re. access in the meantime? If they could it may be a better solution than getting into 'neighbour wars'.
