Default Using Facebook

OK take the p,iss but how do I write a message on Facebook. I have some friends who have just gone to LA and I want to wish them good luck.

So I have logged in to Facebook and found their "wall" with messages on but how do I write something myself?

I expect I am the only person on SN who doesn't know how to do this

Simple really. In the little box on their profile (the wall section) just write your message. It will be visible to them and anyone else they allow so if it is more a personal message then use the Private message function which is what you get when you click under their name to the left

See picture

(excuse my friend, it was just an example )

At the top of their profile page (under the wall tab) there is a box that says "write something..."

Type in your message there... that will be a public message viewable by anyone loking at their profile...for a private message do as Swiss suggested

And yes David..you are...

Your 'friend' is smokin' - I would do more than send her message

Right I have sent a message I think and available to all but it hasn't shown on the "wall"? and I did a refresh? Why would this be?

I'll soldier on

Might be a daft question... (apologies if so) but you did click on the "share" icon after typing the message?

Not daft at all

Yes I think so. But do I have to be accepted as an offical "friend" of the recipient before i can post on their wall?

I've only ever used FB as it was the only way to view my daughters school skiing holiday snaps. That was about three years ago and I've not used it since.

Should we start a club?

I am setting up a website where people who don't use Facebook can connect.

You can share details, send each other messages and even put up pictures. Let me know if you are interested.
