"I want some money, you will give me some money."

Toys out of the pram moment I'd say.

Good for him!

The banks are crippling small businesses at the moment. 'Bout time Vince pulled his finger out, stopped wittering and do something about it.

Thousands of small firms are struggling, and around 500 collapse each week.
Certainly true - the rapidly growing listings of dead bissinesses on companies house is a depressive site.

Not that I'm a fan of banks generally, but they've had nothing but criticism for the last few years for irresponsible lending, now when they refuse to give people loans they get moaned about as well.

That's right but the pendulum has swung too far back. Just before the recession I was given a large personal loan after just a chat at 2.5% over base but now they say I am "lucky" to be given a small business loan at 12.9%

You can give him his medal once he returns from his spell in jail.

The problem is they gone about turn so hard and so severe that even viable business loans are short of impossible to get at a decent rate of borrowing.

Loans/mortgages for personal use or house buying I could understand, but for businesses, its denying local economies from recovering.

Its not only that; saving rates are pants as well.

Do banks have some kind of obligation to hand out their money that I am unaware of?

A £7k arrangement fee on a 40k loan doeas sound a bit steep. Sounds like something the provident would charge.

He bricked up a bank that he had no dealings with and had not even approached this bank for a loan.
