Default How difficult is it to buy MP3 players?

I needed to buy 15 cheap MP3 players - how simple does that sound. How difficult???!

Amazon limited me to a maximum of 5 purchases.

Argos only stock 1 or 2 of each model. None of the local specialist had anything like the stock. Tesco have hardly any stock. I had to do the same three weeks ago - Tesco was the only place I found leaving them one is stock. Went back today and they still have the same one in stock and no others. No stock renewal.

I also needed to buy Sellotape and Marshmallows. They were out of stock of Marshmallows and Sellotape with no restocking date.

It's not as if I was trying to buy a box of plutonium and a packet of unobtanium!

Totally rubbish!

That is very, very bizarre. Places like Misco or eBuyer would have allowed you to purchase bulk (and given you discount).

Probably a bit late, but I'd have thought that any of the mail order companies like Dabs, Novatech, Misco, or (frankly) Amazon would have been only too happy to sell you a bigger order.

If you get stuck again, QTDS (http://qtds.com/main.asp) specialise in selling electronic equipment in bulk.

Andy,

I tried Amazon but they would not let me buy more than five at a time. I thought that would be OK as I could then make three orders, but no. One order of five and that was it.

Jaybird - too risky as if it does not come tomorrow I am screwed as I need to travel Sunday night and they are gifts for a corporate event on Monday. Thanks for the suggestion though. Will check out eBuyer next time - never thought of them even though I use them for all sorts of things!

Trout

PS I am still amazed at how s**t Tesco was!

Ebuyer can still do them monday, even if you order sunday.
I've had orders off them delivered at 7am before.

Joey - unfortunately I will be in a hotel Sunday night and at the client venue on Monday. If I had known two days ago this would have all been great! I think it is too late. Although the eBuyer warehouse is only 40mins drive from me. Can I go in person!

eBuyer has loads of choice at the low cost end. Will call them in the morning and see if I can collect in person! It is not far and a fun drive in the Pork

F**k me - how difficult is this to get someone to take my money.

eBuyer cannot help me.

No supplier in York has 15 in stock.

Costco are out of stock of all players and have been for months! WTF.

Finally found some reasonable stock numbers at Maplin but not in any one store!!

There seems to be a worldwide shortage of MP3 players - damn you Apple!!

Caved in and spent the extra £9 per unit to get iPod shuffles. I still had to got two Argos stores, a.k.a. Jeremy Kyle's Green Room, in York to get them.

I am over budget now but at least the event can go ahead as planned on Monday!
