Default anyone know anything about cheese?

we ordered some cheese online from someone we have used in the past without issue.

we arranged for it to be delivered on a day when someone was in, however it arrived the next day when no one was in and it was taken to the local sorting office and we could not collect until 2 days later.

when we finally got it it was warm to the touch, what I want to know is it likely to be safe to eat?

cheesey comments welcome

James

If you've ever seen what lives in cheese (especially the blue stuff). you'd never touch the stuff. (basically; mites...even cheddar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheese_mite )

If it passes the look-sniff-taste test, its still ok IMO. (I love mouldy cheese )

I always wanted to buy Stinking Bishop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stinking_Bishop_cheese) but haven't been able to justify the astronomical cost.

I love runny and smelly cheese. I do not like Blue / Veined hard Cheese.

What cheese did you buy?

I'm not keen on big blue veiners either.

Personally I like smoked cheese (I guess that would be smoked chedder), edam, brie, stilton, most stuff I guess. Not too keen on very runny continental stuff though but will try it.

Cheese goes well with pickled onions. Yum.

If it has not gone furry and tastes alright, you should be safe enough.

isle of Arran Kilbride extra mature and 2 mature with chives. they are the 400g size which we have never seen anywhere else, and it was just under £30 delivered so not expensive.

Nothing wrong with a bit of fur Les. A quick trim and it will be fine to eat
