Goodyear F1 GSD3 - not very many at all ( total of 4 miles maybe).
Bridgestone S03 PP - 80+ down the M40 for 8 miles to the point that the surface started to get sticky, followed by assessment at the tyre place one I'd twigged there was a problem, then another 6 months of use after replacing a faulty valve.

If I'd properly seen the inside of the tyre I wouldn't have used it as there was obvious heat damage and little ***** of curled up rubber from the inside casing. I only found that out 6 months later when I changed all 4 to F1 GSD3s. Strangely, this didn't seem to obviously affect the tyre nor its use. I've got pictures somewhere...

Not really sure what the moral of the story is other than the Bridgestone will get you home and likely stay in one piece whilst the Goodyear WILL be destroyed.

The flexing of the tyre walls will generate excessive heat which eventually will destroy the tyre. Can't give a distance but it wont be all that far. It can also cause damage over a shortish distance which you can't see but may let you down later after the tyre has been re-inflated.

'little ***** of curled up rubber from the inside casing'

They ( the garage bottom of the road ) said they came away with handfuls of the stuff , presumabaly destroyed sidewall.

Id driven it not far at all and took it in for what i thought would be a punture repair ( it had a 1 inch long screw in the middle of the tyre ). Nothing wrong from the outside so i was skeptical.

Im amazed at the bridgestone strory

about 200-300 yards and it would be on its way to being finished if it was completely flat

Had exactly the same thing on some Toyo's. Got a flat from a screw being embedded. Tried to drive to the nearest tyre place (about 6 miles away). Got there and the result was that they were shagged. Nothing from the outside but the inside was filled with those ***** of rubber.
