Selling a Car with mods
Probably a silly question on a performance car forum but here goes.
Treated my car to a full Milltek last week, very understated but improves the tone nicely. The OEM exhaust doesn't split so I've left it with the fitting centre at the moment. It'll be a pain to transport (van needed) and more pain to store, so the obvious answer is to bin it as it's unlikely to be worth anything.
The car is a 1 year old S4 Avant with all the trick diffs and adaptive suspension set up, so likely to appeal to a performance car enthusiast come sale time.
Question is, would a Milltek put anyone off, or the fact the exhaust was £1600 be an asset?

Don't let the fitting centre have the old exhaust!!
Put it on eBay as someone will buy it. Failing that they are worth money for scrap and the CAT has platinum in it so money for that too
Regarding adding value..... I wouldn't have thought it would add any value unless someone specifically wanted one with that exhaust on and then maybe a few hundred quid more.

If I were buying I would view the Milltek (or any quality brand) as an upgrade and, whilst I may not want to pay for that premium, given 2 identical cars (bar the exhaust of course) at same price I would take the Milltek one every time.
As above tho put OEM on ebay or salvage the cat.

Edit to add: I'm assuming the Milltek is OK for MOT here. If the Milltek is a decat, I would take the OEM.............just not worth the hassle these days.

If 100 people are looking for a 3 year old S4, only 20% would view the new exhaust as an upgrade so you've instantly cut off a fair amount of potential buyers. Keep the old one - cut it if necessary and then sleeve it when re-fitting.

I'd try my best to keep the old exhaust, but if the Miltek keeps noise to a minimum(nearly as aquiet as stock), then maybe you don't need to worry.
How much louder is the Miltek?

I would keep the original ..... there is quite a hike in Insurance Premiums for these kinds of add-ons (and a new buyer may not think the extra worth it).
