Default Are you a carp angler

Thought i'd post to see if any of you are carp anglers.
I've been fishing most of my life, but proper got into carp fishing nearly 4 years ago.

So if any of you are, post a pic of you pb.
Here's my pb 27lb common. Caught on local club water.

Good fish, congratulations.

I have done a great deal of coarse fishing in the past but never got into carp fishing. Takes a lot of patience i imagine.

More recently I have done a fair bit of sea fishing for Bass, and a lot of fly fishing, either competition reservoir trout fishing or sea trout in our local river.

Nice perch.

I do a spot of Barbel on the Swale - fabulous fishing. First time there had one of 12lbs 2oz. Not had a double since but numbers of fish around 7lbs.

Biggest carp was in low teens - not a specialist - more of a floating breadcrust in the margins on a nice Sunday morning kind of guy.

You can have it both ways.

I love stalking the rivers (in fact i'm going Barbel fishing on the Soar tomorrow) with a rod, rucksack and landing net, just as much as i do bivvying up on my carp syndi lake for 4 or 5 days.

I have god knows how many rods and god knows how much spent over the years on gear, but it's basically because i like doing all types of fishing. My carp rods are not really much use for trotting a stick float down the trent.

Bait boats - hate them with a vengeance. luckily they are banned on the waters i carp fish.

That's a big Barbel for the Swale Trout. Those northern rivers like the wharfe and swale don't really have the lumps that the Avon, Stour, Ouse do down south. My best barbel is 9lb 15oz

I have had a couple out of the Swale over 9lbs. The stretch where I fish is very underfished and has a number of very high quality fish in it

I think I hit lucky - £5 a day!

Perch are a very good tasting fish, little better than Pike I think.

Yes very much so. Predatory fish usually do taste pretty good.

I only used to eat one for my tea years ago when I was a lad and there were a good few in the rivers. It was accepted then to eat coarse fish occasionally but not now with the extra pressure on wild life in general.
