Question

Went mullet fishing at the weekend and had one of about 4lb on floating crust, but I was pissed off with the fish stealing the crust, or it coming off when I struck. I've been trying to think of a way round this, and I can't be arsed to use chum mixer (like the carp anglers do) as they're fiddly and you can't see them if the sea is choppy, so I was wondering about using flumps or pieces of them for bait. Has anyone here heard of it being done?

Marshmallows are a very good bait - albeit a little light.

Try supergluing the chum mixer to the shank of the hook.
