Question Direct flight to Vegas

I'm looking at going to Vegas for a week, starting the 23rd of October. So far I have only really come across connecting flights. I really don't want one of those and would prefer to fly direct.
Based in the Midlands but don't mind travelling to get a good flight.

Anybody have experience of where to find such flights?

TIA

Even if you don't book with virgin you can still go on their website and pretend to look for a flight. They have a really neat little price vs date matrix that helps you identify cheaper times & dates.. you can then use that info to narrow your search else where!

Virgin fly direct from Gatwick once a day.. BA also started doing a daily flight but not sure if that is a seasonal thing as when I booked my flights to vegas they were not going direct.. I only found out they did when I was leaving vegas and saw a BA flight to Gatwick leaving just after ours did..

BA direct from LHR to Vegas, £524 economy, sale started yesterday. Virgin direct from LGW is £499, sale started today. Not much point in searching for cheaper flights with either airline, as they guarantee the prices (unless you're in the industry).

Can't see where the Virgin flight is for £499, looked over an hour ago there was nothing for the Saturday. Will check BA.

It helps if you can be flexible with the dates, the most popular flights (eg weekend departures) sell out pretty quickly.

Heck of a long time to have to sit on an aircraft though.

It is that Les! You can only sleep for so long, thats why i don't mind stops, it gives you a chance to stretch your legs and get some 'fresh' air

I used to feel exactly the same way. The long trips from Calgary in the VC10 used to wear you down, it was always a very early start too. It was a relief to have to land at Keflavik to refuel so that you could get off the aircraft for a while.

VC10's, now that brings back memories, we use to have them dropping in quite regular to fill up, big ole birds that had been converted to tankers with like 20 to 30 seats facing the wrong way, 101 and 216 sqdn (Tristars iirc). It was always a bit of a give away as to an upcoming exercise when they hung around as the Jags and Tornados use to feed from them
