Not quite what you're asking, but assuming you've got the space - have you considered a double oven?

Me and the Mrs needed a new oven about 4 years ago so spent what we thought was a good price on one that would last, about £300-350. did it buggery! It was crap, the inner bulb went straight away and the oven gave up not long after.

Sods law depicted I was unemployed at the time so I bought the cheapest reasonable oven from Currys I could find, was £130 and it's loads better than the old one Both were electric by the way and just standard 596mm x whatever the measurements are.

spending loads of wonga doesn't always guarantee you better merchandise I've found, and the Mrs likes conjouring up different stuff in the oven too.

Weve got this arrangement - bottom oven and then top ( smaller) which doubles as a grill .

All in the same unit seperate from a hob ( which is above it ) .

Think its a 'diplomat' or something

The grill is complete shoite , either *on* or *off* !

Bosch or Miele but probably out of your price range. Usually the quality is reflected in the price

When I was looking around to replace our kicthen aplianances I found these two often ranked as some of the cheapest: http://www.appliance-world.co.uk/
and: http://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/

Also Boots/Next/Marks&sparks/Empire direct websites also were pretty cheap; all their websites are ran by the same company anyway.

However, what I did was get the model numbers and prices of what I wanted (including VAT and delivery), phoned my local independant white goods retailer, and they price matched it all

Can highly recommend getting an oven with catalytic liners. Our previous one had them which made it a mandatory requirement for the next oven: ended up with one of these in black: http://www.rangemaster.co.uk/range-cooking/elan-90.aspx (don't ask the cost )

This warehouse/showroom is on my patch at work. They have a good reputation locally and there always seems to be a lot of traffic going in and out.

Spooky: Nearly ten years later I’m ready to click buy on another oven (moved house)

This time it’s self cleaning (pyrolytic) full size combi (microwave). Only Siemens make one AFAIK.

Once again appliances direct came out tops on price, as do Boots...which is actually a front for AO, and appliance-source.co.uk...but will go local again to see if they can match.
