Default Mark Cavendish

In a summer of under acheiving sporting Brits, how about Cav?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0sPjiRTBok

For pure comedy accelleration, watch vid from about 6.30.

OK, so he should have won the green jersey, but winning on Champs Elysees 2nd year running is good going.

Brilliant when he's on song.
Turned out great after the start he had and he's still really young.

Hopefully the green jersey will be his next year.

It's a pity that on some of the cycling forums, he still gets slagged off etc....typically British, rather than everyone be glad he's winning!

Maybe if he takes a few more drugs next year he'll be right up there.

Brilliant rider - making up for getting screwed over by Wiggins at the Olympics.

With the couple of disastrous accidents he got involved with at the start of the tour he could well have been wearing Green at the end. I think he has sixteen stage wins on the Tour now so he is starting to feature on the all time stage winners list.

Top rider.

He'll only win green if he stops being such a dip-**** and starts competing for the intermediate sprints. He'll never win it on stage wins alone.

I would rather have seen more from Wiggo but he simply wasn't on the same level as Schleck and Contador.

I think he'd have got green if he hadn't given up the sprint in the first week, when he knew he wasn't going to win it.

Not doubting his ability but from all I've read and seen, I don't rate him highly as a human being.

I know you need a huge ego and a massive dose of self belief to compete at this level but it's nice when people can switch it off occasionally.

Must admit i've got into this years tour for some reason as i don't normally watch cycling events apart from the Olympics.

I thought he came across quite well in his interviews, has he got the ability to be a complete **** aswell then?

Watching him put the hammer down and leaving the tour in his wake is absolutely brilliant. Must be soul destroying to watch him come tearing past you when your going flat out

ITV4 have shown it live, and highlights everyday.

He does come across a bit arrogant, but it's all a front, I think he suffers quite badly from little man syndrome quite badly.

Shame they sent Mark Renshaw home, you're bound to have a little contact in the lead-out for the sprint.

I saw the final sprint in Paris and roared with laughter at the ITV4 commentators

"Is Hushovd going to pull of a surprise victory?!?!" screams the guy

and then this Cavendish shaped bullet went whipping up the inside.

Class moment that.

I think he was an ****, but he's had a wake up call this year and matured a great deal. He ALWAYS says he's just the guy at the end of a train of people getting him to the front.

Mind you: Renshaw... how to defend a line
