I was skeptical about the idea but thought it was excellent. Very good work by Gatiss and Moffatt who brought the new Dr. Who slickness to it with great actors. Gawd bless you BBC!

I can imagine a Doctor Who/Sherlock special next year - where the doctor travels in time and meets the "new" Sherlock. They'll spend the first episode thinking they're adversaries before realising they're on the same side. There will be jokes from the Doctor about history repeating itself (Old Sherlock vs. New Sherlock) to the ignorance of new Sherlock. Then in the second episode they'll trounce the baddy when they realise they're on the same side and "each has their own strengths".
Mark my words. This will be BBCs equivalents of a comic book mash up (eg, Aliens vs. Predator).
