Default Hotel In Amsterdam

Does anyone know of a decent, cheap hotel in Amsterdam?

A few of us are going on the ferry, and they just phoned and said they'd over booked the hotel, so we have to find one ourself now.

I know a few lads have been before, and they have stayed in some right **** holes, with blood on the sheets etc etc. Which I don't fancy

Got about £430 for 8 people sharing. Can spend more, but would like it at that price really.

Cool, thanks for the suggestions!! That botel one looks good, but it's a minimum two nights stay unfortunately.

Will check the damrack out cheers.

And molko, I won't stay there! Thanks for the heads up. What was wrong with it?

What was wrong with it ? Heh heh the windows opened up onto a brick wall !

I have stayed in worse, we stayed in a room with no windows !...pretty grim

Generally speaking the hotels around the Red Light area are poor.

Agreed

Me and 4 mates stayed there a few years ago, NEVER again!
I mean ive stayed in some crappy places before, but we got a room in the basement with no windows, stinky bedding and it was always mega hot in the room

We got properly mashed before sorting out anywhere to stay and ended up being recommended to stay here by some trampy ruff looking guy hanging around outside central coffee shop just round the corner..........my mate even tipped him for showing us a mega cheapo place to stay

Oh well you live and learn eh

Good location tho

Hotel Groenhof has some big rooms for sharing - not sure how expensive it is though.

Sorry can't help more but I only ever stay in the Hotel Arena when I am in Amsterdam - if it is full I don't go..

Usually stay here when I have been, either with mates or with my missus. Always found it superb.

Bar called The Outback nearby, best Burgers in town!
