Tropical fish need a new home - free to any of the enthusiasts on here
Having debated whether to sell them or not i've decided i'm more interested in them going to a good home rather than selling them off to anyone or giving them away to the local fish shop.
I've sold my tank this morning but the fish aren't wanted so I need to rehome them in the nexr week or two. They are as follows:
1 sailfin plec (large)
1 broken line panaque
4 adult (large) clown loaches
3 rams
2 ruby barbs
2 tiger barbs (very placid for tiger barbs)
1 red tailed black shark (large/adult)
2 lemon tetras
All are mature healthy fish and due to being mature some are fairly large. They are currently in 190 litre tank so they can only go to a tank of this size or bigger. I'm just outside Maidstone in Kent.
If I was to give the above to the local fish shop I know the clown loaches, sailfin and broken line panaque will go for a fair whack due to being mature fish - the panaque was £30 when I bought it as a little'un. The Red Tailed Black Shark is also sought after due to his size so if you want some nice fish for your tank let me know. I wont be splitting groups up so for example the 4 loaches will go together as will the 4 barbs.
I'd prefer the sailfin go to someone with a really large tank or I will try and rehome at one of the large aquariums.
Please let me know by pm of any interest.

if you take the crap from inside his filter in some water and put it into your take it will boost it incredibly, the tank will go brown with **** for half hour or so tho lol
i used to plonk the foam insides in the take and shake it about, which then instantly ends up in your filter

I have a Juwel 300 with a few happy fish in, but plenty room for some more, but that depends on where you are.
Not sure they would get up to the West Mids safe enough.

I know they can be kept together as i've seen many of them in a huge aquarium but that was a specialist tank at Bournemouth Aquarium and no other fish were in with them.

It's a 300ltr tank with more than double the filtration that it actually needs, but I do have other fish in with mine as well, including (amongst others) a couple of catfish and a large angel fish. I'm particuarly fussy about the tank and do water 25% changes every week without fail.
My Dad's kept plec's together without any problems at all - having said that that was a 400ltr tank with massive filters - beautiful tank that was.

Yep, I was thinking 400+ litres for 2 plecs before you replied. Mine is only a 190 litre and I think it is too small and would prefer he was in a minimum of 300 litres.
How big is your current sailfin? I really don't know if keeping them together in 300 litres will be OK, if it is then that is good with me but really need someone more knowledgeable of plecos to give an opinion. I'll ask on the forums...

STI Mav, having asked over on a pleco forum there has been a general opinion on replies that for 2 sailfins to be kept together they would need a very large tank. Thanks for the interest but it sounds like it wouldn't be fair on your existing sailfin or mine to put them together in 300 litres. They were suggesting for long term ownership 600 litres was needed just to keep one!
As it turns out on another forum (i've been posting everywhere trying to rehome him!) he has been offered a home not too far from me in a 5'x2'x2' tank. I just need to arrange taking him
