Red face And So It Starts ....

.... panic buying in the shops!!

Tesco and Sainsburys here have had their shelves emptied of milk/bread - people are running about grabbing everything they can - madbess, pure madness!!

Yes, it's snowing and we will be trapped indoors for at least a week - but, come on!

We've got about 3 weeks worth of food before we hit the tinned crap and dodgy frozen stuff that we can't quite identify. No problem

Same up here we had snow all day around 6inch laying in places. Nipped to sainsburys and it was like queing to get on a ride at alton towers!. Evrything else seems normal apart from several 6ft snowmen in the middle of most of the local streets. Oh and i took my daughter sledging she really really really wanted to go

We haven't even got any snow and all the fresh stuff has gone from the shops. All that was left was a couple of bendy carrots and some marble sized potatoes. I suppose that it makes sense to get it in before the snow comes.

I think Facebook started the scaremongering. I read on there that the shelves were empty so i emptied them a bit more

Problem with most of the big bread makers is they run whats called a lean supply chain-this means that they only have enough flour etc for a max of 48hrs(prolly nearer 24) so if the incoming supply of flour is disrupted the they cant make any bread-I deliver bread for allied bakeries(kingsmill) so I've got a freezer full but not everyone will be as well stocked
cheers richie

"that society is only three meals away from anarchy"

remember the footage of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina -- it is hard to disagree

anyway just off to unload the 58 cases of baked beans out of the back of my car

that's just a joke

it's really 78 jars of Pesto

We have this amazing device called a freezer. You puts your food into it, and it remains good for months, even years.

Think I have enough food in there to last us the whole month.

Likewise, and a bread machine with at least a couple of bags of flour at home, no worries As for booze, the house is never dry

|I think I would prefer to have a reasonable stock of the essentials though.

How would you describe those who had not bothered to get any provisions in against the bad weather and then started moaning about having no food?
