I think that's what you call blind panic....
Although, I am guessing that the car may well have been at the top of a steep hill. If you know you have lost it at the top, he may well have thought its best to jump out before the car really gets going. Left it a bit late if that was the plan though.

You'd think after the first one or two they'd have stopped anymore using the road, but they just let them keep coming. Ridiculous!. Happy Christmas btw.
