Yes, yes it is! Do not forget Kirsty McColl and her unique voice either, the song is full of energy and my best all time chistmas tune.

I'm due back in the UK Christmas Eve, so I'll miss all of the fun with the Kids, but I'm sure BFBS will play the usual dreadful selection of Christmas tunes to keep us entertained

Wham...Last Christmas, is the best and you know it, closely followed by East17 with their white snorkel jackets on, Maria looks good in her red jump suit too.

I wont crack open the Christmas X0 until I see the Coke advert with the Lorry travelling through the snow...holidays are comin, holidays are comin...that one.

When does the Sky music channel start playing none stop Xmas songs, Im sure it was November last year.

I went for new fish today and the garden centre had its full Xmas display up, everthing you could imagine and they were taking bookings for the grotto....I put my name down, as you do...I will take my son some other time.

Right, where is the Warninks Advocaat ?

Love FTNY. Best christmas song without doubt.

Mrs Chop would say it is because I drink nearly as much as shane mcgowen (and look a little like him)

So is all the Christmas shit on the shelves in the shops yet ??

One good thing about moving to Oz is they dont do what all British Supermarkets do and start ramping it up from September onwards, I haven't seen one Christmas item yet and we certainly dont have entire aisles dedicated to it, how very refreshing

Pretty much.

People moan about hearing the odd Christmas song/seeing crap in the shops, but try working with all this in shops, it's so much worse.

Plus, I'd guess a fair chunk of the people moaning are already out buying their Christmas stuff. They'd be quick to complain if they couldn't get it til a week before.

Personally, I don't think it's been quite so bad this year as others. Just going by my own experience. Not so far......

I am with you on those Yoza, I should have East 17 but vcant just for that song and Wham just brings back Christmasses from the eighties, but like all Christmas songs, it needs to be heard in the right place and only very occasionally in the week or two before Christmas, in Argos sometime in October isnt it.

Stone Roses first album is my Christmas favourite, nice and jangly with lots of religous sounding references, plus its not overtly "Christmassy"

Bloody hell, some people on here really are miserable.

We should have a grump corner where the miserable members can all go and moan to each other about crap Radio, and getting pointless text messages!

I think Fairytale Of New York is a cracking song, it is one of the only Christmas songs that is exempt from all the cheesy, tacky and over dramatic rubbish that appears year after year. It's a true classic!!

My brother has just gone back to Oz and he said he is really looking forward to how refreshing it will be having Christmas there. Also the fact he is going back to the start of summer.

THis will be my first christmas in approx 9 years out of retail. I'm really looking forward to being able to enjoy it!

But yes, playing christmas tunes should be left until about 2/3weeks before christmas otherwise it just gets drawn out.

Oh and Sting has a new christmas album out, it sounds **** and lets not forget the christmas big push on mobility scooters!

Oh right, I don't get to watch 'real' tv very often. It's usually Playhouse Disney or something equal in punishment. But iftkeeps the nippers quiet, so I leave them too it.
