Help - what do I need?? (mobiles)
My son who is away at present has asked me to get a memory storage card for his phone. I didn't even know these things existed
He has a Virgin contract and they have just sent him a new phone being an LG KS360. Just a regular phone which was around £60.
So what do I need, where do I get one from (e-bay?) and how much are they? Any point in buying two if they are cheap?
Cheers, David

Thanks so much Snazzers
Can't stand the big superstores so I'll just get on line.
Some cards offer a USB connection and a PD (??) connection - what do they do please? Would this mean, for example, that he could connect the card to his PC and download photos he has taken??
Your help really appreciated. David

Just a USB cable will do, connect to phone and pc, and they should see eachother, then on the pc you'll see the memory stick in the phone as a drive letter in Explorer, (My Computer) navigate around that and you'll find photos, movies etc taken on the phone... then you can copy them out onto the pc if you want.

Would this cable connection allow him to download his stored phone numbers do you think?
In the past the kids have lost a phone and, of course, all their stored contacts.

I'm not so sure that this is the right answer.
Was the old phone LG also?
Personally I hate the hassle of a new phone.
I had Sony Ericsson for quite some time - that was easy, backup and restore.
But before that I had a samsung something or other - all I could do was copy to SIM.
That in its own sort of messes up contacts by sticking things like /1 or /2 or something else (to make things unique I assume)
Last move was a right pain - a Sony P1i to a Blackberrry curve
However back to the original memory card
I bought one of these phoens for my Daughter (the pink one though)
I got her a micro SD memory card from Amazon - I got a class 4 memory card.
The microSD cards have a speed rating on them - look it up

The only way I have ever connected a memory card to a PC is via a memory card reader (USB), so honestly not sure about the USB connectivity of a memory card.
Using the data cable that comes with the phone, plugged directly into the PC, as said, the PC should allow your son to explore and copy the contents of the memory card via windows explorer.
Hope that makes some sence, I have even confused myself lol

Just a small point......my Micro SD card came from Amazon complete with a little "holder" that it fits into... that means it can be put in a full size SD slot on the computer or multi card reader. Quite handy if you ever needed to plug it into a computer
