ANY SNOOKER PLAYERS ON HERE?
Just wondering if any of you on here participate in any leagues or competitions?
I have been playing since i was 7 (28 now) and have been playing competitive since i was 9 Makes me feel old now.
I have represented Wales at all age levels except Seniors which i have another 12 years to practice for
There must be more than just me on here
Higest match break 139
Higest practice break 143

Was previously on the Pool scene but never had the patience required for snooker.
Regularly played with people that knock 100s in for fun, inc a couple that have made the TV.
Usually did okay in the Handicap snooker comps as my highest break is rubbish but knock them in okay
Nice breaks

I play a bit, pot the red and screw back, for the yellow, green, brown, blue, pink and black and all that. My highest break is 180.

I usually find the blokes on TV make most sports look easy
Anway, to the original post.
I used to play competively in matches in my local club and in a league for my club
I used to play matches 2 or 3 times a week.
I practiced 4 or 5 times a week.
Handicap in local club was as low as it could go at -14, you started off at +25 if I remember right.
We won our league only once, runners up usually
I had been playing off and on for about 20 years
Highest break was only in the 90's unlike your professional 143
I tried playing not that long ago after many years - appears my eyesight isn't so good anymore.

In the league down here the do the handicaps on Blues (5 points) it's been capped this year at -40 and the highest is +25. Last year there were boys as low as -60 And we have a full womens team in the league this year

I used to play quite allot but not to such a high standard. Tend to play pool now for the same eyesight issuse as mentioned above lol.
I did know quite a few players who were capable of 100+ breaks and they were amazing to watch, it made my regular 40's seems piiful, but I suppose thats why games get handicapped in a club
I still enjoy watching it on tv and went to Cardiff recently to watch the semi's of the welsh open and managed to shake Ali Carters hand

Used to play Snooker quite a bit when I was younger. Then got into Pool more. Played that quite a bit in pubs. Winner stays on or for money. Was pretty damn good at it.
Haven't played pool for years now.

Pool - pffff, thats for pansies
I'll tell you a little trick on a pool table to impress your friends - try it yourself beforehand
cueball behind balk line and closeish to right cushion
put a ball over bottom left pocket and pretend to be snookered on it.
Now assuming bottom right pocket is empty then strike cue ball at left knuckle of pocket with lots of right hand side and if you do it properly you'll pot the ball over the left pocket.
