Just caught the tail end of this on the news last night... Sounds interesting, and would certainly deal another blow to the US economy.

If you believe speculation, threats of trading in other currencies was one of the causes of the Iraq war. Saddam threatening to trade in Euro's

Didn't the Iranians announce last week that they were linking oil to the Euro, moving away from the petro-dollar?

I wouldn't discount the Russians influence in all this since they have the world's largest oil reserves. When Iraq was invaded a lot of lucrative Iraqi-Russian oil deals were cancelled which is bound to leave an element of bitterness.

statitics re the dollar are amazing

i think I read that 80% of dollar bills exist outside the states

and that 40% are forged anyway

apparenty Russian forgers can produce 99.9% accurate dollar bills

BTW I met an Irish forger once that could make perfect 10p's buy filing down the edges of a 50p

This has been going on for ages, or at least the speculation has, maybe its just part of the US going back to being just another country instead of judge, jury and executioner, self apointed World Police, what it means for us I don't know, seeing as we are their bitches.
