Buzzcocks?
Just watched the first prog of the new series.
Anyone know what's happened to Simon Amstell? I thought he was funny.
They seem to have switched to 'a different presenter for each programme' format, like HIGNFY did after wotshisface was sacked. Has something happened??

I liked him he was incredibly demeaning to his guests and made me smile.
Anyway, from wikipedia:
"On 25 April 2009, Amstell announced via his internet mailing list that he will not be hosting another series of Never Mind the Buzzcocks because of his desire to concentrate on his live tours and performances instead."

It had its moments, but Amstell had that show all sewn up. I simply don't get that Corden bloke, nor that rock-hippy-geek Fielding. File them both along with Ricky Gervais in the desperately unfunny bin.

I still prefered Mark Lamarr, although Bill Bailey was better than Sean Hughes (if you can remember that far back?). After Lamarr left they used guest presenters too: Simon Amstell was one of them.....

On the subject of the dark ages, when Lamarr and Sean Hughes were still on it, did you see the one with Moyles? Probably my favourite episode, purely due to Moyles showing his true colours (i.e. a deeply unfunny ****)

Amstell is/was one of the best presenters of his generation, far too clever and subtle for many. Possibly just too irreverent for the PC-obsessed BBC though. Sad to see him go. Buzzcocks could be in danger of disappearing down the plughole without either him or Lamarr at the helm.
More to the point though, how come James Corden pulled a bird like Sheridan Smith?? No wonder she's dumped him, surely she can do better than that juvenile wannabe??

Phil what ever his name is, needs to jog on as well.
You can see him glazed over, he's just turning up for the pay cheque.
I have been the biggest fan of Buzzcocks, but its had its day now....

Bugger ...I've got tickets for the audience later this month!!! Just my luck, Amstell was my favourite presenter, but Lamarr was good too. Hope they have a good line up, I'll be properly pi$$ed off if not.
