Why don't we have a MOWO Awards?
Just a thought? why doesn't anyone from a background of Music Of White Origin get any admiration from people of a similar nature just like the MOBO awards?

If we excluded people of colour it would be considered racist, however if they exclude white people......
A bit like persecuting Jade Goody for mispronouncing Shipa Shetty's name, but no-one objecting to Jermaine Jackson for referring to Jade as 'White trash' !

Calling her shilpa poppadom or shilpa fcukawalla isn't mispronunciation - it's racism.
The retard was white trash - fact.
As for MOBOs - let the coons vote for their favourites

I think they should rename it the Urban Music awards or something like that.
Then any reference to race is removed and this argument which happens every year can be put to bed.
I can't stand soul, R&B etc. so am quite happy for such "black" music stations, award shows etc to continue as it means I know which stations to avoid.
Saying that, I do own a few Public Enemy, ICE T and Cyprus Hill albums! Nothing like a healthy dose of hypocrisy in the morning

It is now police policy to treat even 'minor' incidents seriously, not just physical assaults, because of the particular fear that a hate motive can cause, and the possibility of escalation if such incidents are unchecked. The definition of a 'racist incident' now adopted by all forces is 'any incident which is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person'.
Is the criminal law the right solution?
Racial discrimination can often be subtle and hard to prove, rather than violent, and the solution can often lie in civil law rather than in the criminal courts. To establish that a crime has been committed requires a very high degree of proof, and the court has to be convinced "beyond all reasonable doubt". However, the civil courts take a different approach, and they only ask if a "reasonable man or woman" would accept the argument for or against.
Of course we could debate reasonableness. We could debate whether it is reasonable to make jokes of peoples names from another race. Name calling in it's commission could be regarded as humiliating or exclusive to members of that other race.
A test of reasonableness would be whether the name-calling in question would be freely used in the presence of people of that race without fear or favour. One imagines a reasonable person is unlikely to use such names that have a foundation on racial difference in such a scenario.
So to repeat the basis of civil liability in commission of a racist act, "if a "reasonable man or woman" would accept the argument for or against.", or a criminal liability, "any incident which is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person". The balance of reasonableness would seem to favour name calling racist rather than not racist therefore a proof would seem to be straightforward.

However, do I act like a racist? Would I employ a black or indian person? Would I treat them the same as other colleagues?

...however Jade wasn't doing it in the privacy of her own home. That is when it can become racist.

It would not make you a closet racist either.
We'll never agree, but IMO just saying words does not make you racist. It makes you stupid and ignorant.
Judging people and treating them differentley is crossing the line.

The reason we don't have MOWO awards is because white folk don't give a fvck. Blacks et al are the only people that give much of a sh*t about race or creed IMHO. This is why (again IMHO) 90% of 'racism' is a person choosing to take offence to a comment/statement/whatever that would just be water off a ducks back to a white person. I maintain that less than 10% will be actual vindictive targeted racism.
The very fact they have MOBO awards is retarded as they single themselves out when, surely, they are trying to achieve a situation where every man women and child on the planet sees each other as exactly that, a man, a women, or a child. Then seem happy to have 'black only' stuff in music but could you imagine the outrage if you walked into McDonalds and there were till queues entitled, "gook", "cracker", "******", and "miscellaneous other"

I guess we will disagree but I will sleep soundly.
Saxo Boy - you are right - racism by definition is in the eye/ear of the recipient - it is just that most (not all) white people tend not to be on the receiving end of the subjugation that many coloured people have.
