MUSE - Resistance
I'm going to stick my neck out here and abandon the flock.......
I've loved everything they have released before but seriously SERIOUSLY hate this album so far. Major disappointment in my view.
Disappearing up the route of formulaic songwriting and some tracks just seem so contrived it's untrue.
EPIC FAIL boys, sorry.

Pontificating
They started down that path with Black Holes imo, they lost their edge after Absolution. I would agree though for a 3 piece they can't arf make some sound, their best gig for me was the set they did at Chelmford V festival 2001 in the pissing rain, awesome.
WWSD, have a listen to "In Rainbows", it touches your soul man.

I'm a big fan of Muse, owning all their albums, many song books and having been to see them live and I really wanted to come on here and say WTF are you on about!?!? But, I have to agree No songs have grabbed me yet; gone are the days when I can just go and get their new album knowing it will be brill. I'll give it another couple of goes but at the moment it just sounds like a second choice background music album

And that's why I'm so disappointed.
But I have. still not impressed.
I really really wanted to love it. Brilliant band and I feel bad not liking it but there's no getting round the fact that it's very formulaic, clearly influenced by Queen and not terribly original as a result.
Thankfully, it looks like this is not just my opinion either.

Tried it three times now and I still think it's ****e. Far too different for my liking, too much 80's crap and classical stuff.
Pm me if anyone wants my copy. I'll post it out for £5.
Big let down.
