Another 3 today
And two yesterday. Three Thursday as well.
No particular reason for the post, only that everyone should know.

Tis suddenly speeding up.
Very sad news indeed. Was not impressed at the emphasis yesterday on the BIG 200!
The 199 before that deserve identical attention, and benchmarking one in particular seemed a bit wierd.
These are humans, not numbers!
Very sad indeed though. 200+ families changed for ever.
Even though its not on our soil..... Thank you to those who have given their lives.

200 poor sods most of whom have died because the government is to mean to spend the money on the kit they need but strangely Boris has 111million to spend on london cycle routes etc!
There will be lots more to die before the operations out there are over still i suppose we should be gratefull we are of the generation where 1 or 2 dying a day gets attention and not just under 100 years ago where nearly 60,000 British and commonwealth died or seriously wounded in 1 day.

It is a shameful indication of how much these selfish A'holes care for those they are sending to a very likely death because of their lack of responsibility in protecting them as much as possible which is the expected requirement from the politicians.
It is also pretty revealing that they don't even bother to record those who get severely wounded and disabled permanently and also they are prepared to go to court to get the wounded soldiers' care allowance back as well!
They want stuffing!

Any death like this is terrible. And having a 21 year old son adds to my awareness of what the families must go through.
In fact I think we are wasting our time out there and we should get out of the place and use the money saved on boosting out own security.
But......... we shouldn't forget that 200 were killed many times per day in the Great War as those lovely old boys who died recently reminded us. I'm just putting a bit of perspective on things. dl

Its a feckin' disgrace how the goverment is handling this situation.
My mates son has signed up (because he thinks its cool) and i dont think he's mature enough or will know whats hits him if he gets shipped off to Afghanistan, to say i'm worried is an understatement.
There is just too many kids getting killed out there in a war we cannot win.

If the USSR couldn't take/keep control of the country with it's resources and a lack of compassion with regards to the local population or to the number of Russian casualties, what chance do we have?

This policy of not equiping the troops is normal for the UK if you look back over the last 100 years we have repeatedly under spent on defense and let our troops die rather than spend money you only have to look at the tanks we used in WW2.
Or the Boer war when we sent troops out in red tunics to be picked off or send airman up out numbered 10 to 1 in the Battle of Britian as we didnt have enough fighters or equiping bi planes to attack any invader in 1940 as we didnt have a modern fast bomber etc etc.
As to if we should be there you have to ask the question what to we define as wining and if the country regresses back to being a base for terroists will we be able to stop any attacks before they kill more uk citzens than we are currently losing?
