Question Circular Pub Walks in / around Hertfordshire?

Found one that takes you along the Grand Union Canal.
Starts at the Coach and Horses (Rickmansworth)
Coach and Horses Rickmansworth - Coach and Horses Bar, Bars and Restaurants Rickmansworth

Anyone got any favourite walks that pass rivers / streams etc or nice countryside AND also have at least one pub en-route?

Get an OS explorer map, find a good pub on beerinthevening, and construct your own.

Cheers for that Skyline - will have to try them both out. Not sure about the menu at the 3 Horseshoes though - wtf is a "Potaotoe"

Small world I grew up in Rickmansworth in a house on the banks of the Grand Union.

"Ricky" was a coaching stop from London and at one time there were 26 pubs in what was only a large village! I've been to them all but not in one hit!!

Don't fall in

dl

PS. The River Chess is pretty and plenty of nice pubs but I can't think of one right on the banks.

Bloody hell DL! I used to work in Denham, on the North Orbital.

Skyline........I was going to suggest the 3 Horseshoes, but couldn't think of the name!

no worries Jods

IMHO, the three horseshoes is great for a glass of vino whilst watching the world go by on the canal. I've eaten there about 3 times in the last 4 years and have yet to have a good meal there.

The Old mill on the other hand I would happily go to for lunch today if I could get away with it

Heading down towards Watford from there you have:
The Fisheries - near Hemel Station: Not bad for drink but more of a chain pub. Have a beer and watch the canal float by.
The Paper Mill - Apsley: Avoid. Expensive and I've been served off-meat in there.
Various places in Kings Langley and Hunton Bridge until you come to The Grove which may be like £50 a head in the Glasshouse it's rather good

I would also consider a detour to The Marchmont Arms in Hemel. I like the food there although cookstar may disagree
