Anyone got married abroad?
I'm getting married in 10 weeks in olu deniz , turkey.
Not got my clobber ready yet.
Has anyone got married abroad? What did you wear? I'm worried about getting a suit and sweating my **** off.
Help would be appreciated

I got married in Florida in the summer outside in a garden and "...suit and sweating my **** off" was quite accurate. But really you need a suit especially if your wife-to-be makes the effort.

Well she's told me not to wear one lol.
She's mentioned linen trousers and a high collar shirt
One thing I hate wearing suits I don't feel comfortable in them at all I've wore a suit twice in the whole 23 years of my life.

I got married in Jamaica, wore the full suit etc and yes I sweated my **** off
Me and the best man were asked to wait in what must have been the only room in Jamaica with no air conditioning while the bride was prepared, we ended up using the curtains to mop our brows!!
On the plus side though it all went incredibly smoothly and an hour or so after the ceremony the 4 of us were sitting in the pool bar drinking champagne

Got married in Yalta in 40C wearing suit melting in the heat as above consensus seems to be.
Since you will hopefully be keeping the photos for ever, I would recommend you wear a nice suit and join the club! ;-)
As you are slowly melting just repeat over and over in your mind " at least its not PI**ing it down with rain". This will make you feel better.
If you are really well organised and a bit of a softee ;-) hire a car with aircon to follow you around during the event and you and yours can dodge into it between photo sessions/ events (you softee!) I wish I had thought of this before the event. But at least we had hired a pirate ship to take us to the reception where it was a bit cooler on the water.
Best wishes!

married in the dom rep just over 2 (I think) years ago, wore a full suit and it turned out to be the hottest day of our stay there (well over 30 degrees) mrs wore a full dress though so it was the least I could do. Was glad when it was over though so I could get back into my shorts and into the pool and swin up bar

Got married in sorrento in a garden overlooking Vesuvius.was v hot, but was wearing a White linen shirt, linen trousers and didn't really feel the heat at all. The whole getting married abroad idea was so that it would be a laid back, none stuffy/too formal affair, which was how we wanted it.we didn't want a massive do,hijacked by loads of people who we don't see for months on end.was perfect-best of luck
