mate of mine just bought an L reg vauxhall astra...reckons he can make flames appear from the exhaust, which enables him to go faster?!!!...mmmmmm...opinions please peeps?!!
Flames - unlikely unless its got a Calibra turbo lump under the bonnet.
As for making him go faster - he's been watching KnightRider too much Flames are the result of unburnt fuel in the exhaust that get ignited by the heat in the pipes. An indication of an improved downpipe and de-cat exhaust. Probably.
Mine flames when I lift off @ high revs after being on the Nitrous. You hear a nice "Dumph, Dumph, Dumph," as she gets rid of the excess fuel and Nitrous.
astraboy.
I know someone with a MG ZR160 (Rover 25 in drag) who is immensely proud of it. He's changed the exhaust and put a K&N filter on it, and reckons it'll do 0-60 in around 5 seconds and give the scoob "a run for its money".
How do you break the news to these people? Advice please.
